Our Impact: 6th Month Report

For someone experiencing domestic abuse, the question of where they can safely live is often the most urgent one. Our six month impact report shows how our outreach team has helped survivors stay safe and avoid homelessness, whether that meant making it possible to remain at home or finding a safe route out.

Over the past six months, the team recorded 66 outcomes and interventions that helped survivors. These included 35 home safety and civil protection measures, such as security improvements to properties and non-molestation and occupation orders, and 19 moves into safer accommodation, including refuge, emergency housing and managed moves.

People aren’t just a number

Behind these numbers are people facing very different circumstances. One survivor was able to return to her own home after we supported her to secure protective orders and the perpetrator was removed. A mother forced out of her home with three children was helped to fund a deposit on a new flat. Another survivor, with no recourse to public funds, was supported into affordable private accommodation when the tenancy she shared with the perpetrator was ended.

What the report makes clear is that safety and housing can’t be separated. Legal protection, home security and advocacy can matter just as much as finding a new property, and survivors need different routes to safety depending on their situation. By working closely with housing providers, the police and courts, immigration, health and care services, our team helps turn a moment of crisis into lasting stability.
